Six Paths of the Storyteller for Leaders
Reconnect to the land, get grounded and experience tribal wisdom through a "spoken word" legacy!   This three day leadership camp at Hamaatsa, facilitated by Larry Littlebird, provides a pristine outdoor retreat environment in the rolling foothills of the Ortiz Mountains, near Santa Fe, New Mexico. Custom-tailored to fit your group or organization, Six Paths of the Storyteller, presents pathways and aspects of the self as they make up the whole being. This leadership intensive will help clarify and strengthen your personal goals as well as aid groups in working together for a common vision, through land-based activities, honing communication skills, teambuilding exercises and council process in the Hamaatsa Council Lodge Tipi.

Spiritual Roots of Sustainability Camp
Walk lightly upon the pristine aboriginal lands of Hamaatsa, in the juniper foothills of the Ortiz Mountains, and experience living in a simple Native style community camp! Focus is on personal quest of spirit through listening to the land and principles of sustainability through the lens of indigenous land wisdom and ecology.  Emphasis is placed on living simply upon the land, understanding our kinship relationship to the elements (fire, air, water, earth) and the role people, plants and wildlife have to the  landscape. This three day contemplative pilgrimage is for anyone who wants to gain strength, well-being and blessing in their lives.

Hunting Sacred Camp
“In my tradition, hunting is an initiatory experience and spiritual practice.  Hunters do not take life, they receive life.  They know how to thrive and bring prosperity back to their community. Hunters are humble and able to listen deeply to his or her experience. They seek to understand their own place and purpose within a great circle of Creation.  Their personal action is to give back, which is crucial to being part of the natural order of all things”. – Larry Littlebird
This three day “hunting sacred” immersion on the aboriginal lands of Hamaatsa will apply to your life.  Hunters turn knowledge into action, becoming one with their word to impact the direction of the world.  This three day camp offers a rare mentorship opportunity to gain personal guidance and in-depth training and preparation for hunting in a spiritual way.   It is for those who have never hunted before, and for those with hunting experience.

Way of Blessing
“To live in blessing is perhaps more important today than ever.  Blessing is a way of reconnecting to all that is.  It can bring you peace and grace in times of chaos and distress.  Growing up at Gwi-sh-tee, Paguate, my mother's village in the Pueblo of Laguna, I had many elders all around me, who were exemplary role models.  Through their loving kindness and patience, I received many gifts that demonstrated over and over again to me, how blessing works in one's life.   I believe these foundational principles can bring forth spiritual wholeness in one's life and with each blessing you receive and give, true healing and restoration can come to land and people."  -  Larry Littlebird
Join us on the pristine aboriginal lands of Hamaatsa, for a first hand experience of blessing and gain a deeper understanding of how to bring the practice of blessing into your everyday life and relationships.  Choosing the path of blessing, we will weave spoken words, songs and prayers through an intuitive process for blessing others and for accepting blessing for ourselves.  Emphasis will also be placed on sharing meals together for gaining a renewed sense of reverence for our food.

Programs can be custom designed to fit the goals of your group or organization.

"For most Native people, the action has always been to simplify your life
so your spirit can teach you how to live"

Sustainable living at Hamaatsa is a contemplative reverent action informed by an indigenous ecology and land wisdom and modeled upon the successful hunter-gatherer-agricultural societies of tribal America.

In the pristine outdoor retreat environment of Hamaatsa in the rolling foothills of the Ortiz Mountains, near Santa Fe, New Mexico, this week-long mentorship intensive with Larry Littlebird and Hamaatsa staff will emphasize personal quest of spirit, listening to the land, clear seeing, and intuitive sensing for gaining strength, grace, well-being and blessing in one’s life.  Working together as a community will be key as well as receiving one’s own personal visioning, integrating the whole being:  Spiritual, Physical, Emotional, Mental and Instinctual.

A walking pilgrimage, "peregrina", and overnight wilderness solo will be part of the process, where Larry will share spiritual precepts for living simply upon the land and our kinship relationships to the elements: fire, air, water, earth and the role people, plants and wildlife have to the to the landscape. The overnight solo is optional.

Daily talking circles in the Hamaatsa Council Lodge Tipi provide sacred space for cultural exchange, ceremony and council around topics that challenge us to apply lessons learned into simple everyday steps and actions for a more sustainable lifestyle.

Camping is in our rustic Native style camp and the overnight solo will take place in a wilderness area within the boundaries of Hamaatsa’s 320 environmentally protected aboriginal lands.  Healthy organic vegetarian meals are provided by Hamaatsa and included in your tuition.

Who is this for?
This program "came into being" through our beloved European friends expressing a desire to return to Hamaatsa to deepen their work here.  In addition, we have had many people express wanting to stay longer at Hamaatsa and mentor with Larry.  This inspired us to offer this "special" one week intensive and "cross cultural exchange" between peoples this Spring at Hamaatsa.   The group size is for twelve people.

The European group is confirmed for seven people. We have five spaces  awaiting those folks eager to join us!
